Eminem Album: Sell A Million Digital Copies

With profits fading year after year, the decline of the music industry is well-documented, but can hang its hat on this achievement courtesy of Eminem:
He became the first artist to sell a million digital copies of a single album with his aptly-titled Recovery. His manager, Paul Rosenberg, said in a statement:
"Over the years, we've made a concerted effort to engage Em's online fanbase, so this achievement is especially rewarding."

Lady Gaga is close to joining Eminem in this club, with more than 900,000 digital sales and counting of her monster 2008 release, The Fame.
Adele's sophomore smash 21 will beat her, though, and may even surpass Recovery before long. It's at 992,000 digital copies in just 19 weeks.
These are full album sales, mind you. The most-downloaded track of all time, the Black Eyed Peas' "I Got A Feeling," has sold seven million plus.
In fact, more than 200 songs have sold two million downloads or more, but Recovery's digital numbers are the first to track seven figures.
